In 1982
zelf in achtenswaardig gezelschap.
'Het is ontzagwekkend natuurlijk en stemt tege
lijk tot bescheidenheid. Het is bijzonder voor mij
omdat in Groot-Brittannië mij niemand groet
maar Nederland is me altijd vriendschappelijk
gezind geweest. Het heeft me vanaf het begin
omarmd.'

reasons why she received the Freedom of Worship medal.
Congratulations on being awarded the Freedom of
Worship medal. You find yourself in esteemed company.
'It feels very awe-inspiring of course, and humbling
really. Also extraordinary to me because here [in
the UK] no one would give me the time of day! But
Holland's been a very good friend to me, it's wel
comed me right from the start.'
