DELTA EN DE NATIONALE POSTCODELOTERIJ
SPONSOREN FOUR FREEDOMS AWARDS
DELTA AND THE NATIONAL POSTCODE LOTTERY
SPONSOR THE FOUR FREEDOMS AWARDS
Het Zeeuwse energiebedrijf Delta en de grootste
goededoelenloterij van Nederland, de Nationale
Postcode Loterij sponsoren de Four Freedoms
Awards. Hoe kan sponsoring de identiteit van een
energieleverancier en een loterijorganisatie vereni
gen met de Four Freedoms Awards? Lineke Broos
Nationale Postcodeloterij. Door Lineke Broos
Delta is van alle markten thuis. Het levert een breed
pakket aan diensten en producten. Van gas water en
licht tot afvalverwerking en internetdiensten. Vorig
Awards is ongeleend.
The Zeeland energy company Delta and the largest
good cause lottery in the Netherlands, the National
Postcode Lottery, are sponsoring the Four Freedoms
Awards. How can the identities of an energy supplier
and a lottery organisation be reconciled with
sponsorship of the Four Freedoms Awards? Lineke
Broos spoke with Delta Director, Peter Boerma, and
with René Bogaarts, Head of Communications for
the National Postcode Lottery. By Lineke Broos
Delta is a jack of all trades. It delivers a broad range
of products and services. From gas, water and light to
waste processing and internet services. Last year the
company made a net profit of 115 million Euros. The
company is a major sponsor. For every request that
comes in is weighed up to decide if it's a meaningful
activity to sponsor. The Roosevelt Foundation, initiator
of the Four Freedoms Awards, was assured of a contri
bution from Delta right from the word go.
Boerma: 'The social value of the Awards is
unprecedented. The guarantee of the four freedoms
is of great importance to everyone. So I see it as our
obligation, on behalf of the company too, to make a
contribution to perhaps the most important rights of
mankind'. Alongside this, geography plays a signifi
cant role. 'For us it is important to play an active and
a constructive part in Zeeland's society. For this rea
son Delta sponsors a variety of projects in the prov
ince in the area of sport, culture and society. The Four
Freedoms Awards is an international democratic party
of the most charming kind, which puts our province
on the map. The event's diversity gives colour to our
province', according to the Director.
